1-3

I discovered that Miranda can count to 3... in Spanish. She can't even count to 3 in English.

Yesterday, we were all upstairs in the kids' room when she'd lined up a bunch of those Peek-a-block things and said, "Oh, no."
"'Oh, no' what, Miranda?" I asked.
She pointed to the first block and repeated, "Oh, no." Then she pointed to the second block and said, "Dos." Then the third block and said, "Tres."
Then I got it. 'Oh, no' was really 'uno'. She was counting in Spanish.

Mims loves watching Dora the Explorer, and asks us to read her the Dora books we also have on hand. One of the books urges the reader to count the number of nuts for a Mother's Day cake. She points at each one as I count in Spanish. She constantly amazes me.
