We are a very tired family.
With my being sick, I wasn't able to care for the kids on Monday, and they needed their Daddy to be home from work to watch them while I rested. DH ended up having to stay up after putting us all down for the night to catch up on some work. He usually does this when he goes for a run... waits for us to get to bed, then he goes and runs. It's the only time he has for himself. The rest of the time, he's either working, spending quality time with the kids or doing some other chore that helps me out.
At about 4am, Miranda woke us up when she cried in her sleep. She was very upset and inconsolable. She must've had a bad dream because she stopped crying when I woke her. Thank heavens we're in a family bed (Luc is already sleeping in his own bed, but it's still in our room). I didn't have to leave the room to get to her and comfort her as she was right beside me. She fell asleep again cuddled up against me, but I had a tough time drifting off again. I eventually did, but it took a while.
Alas, there's no rest for the wicked, as they say, and I woke up early to get ready for the day. I felt better today, but still not 100%. I emptied the dishwasher, and even folded the 2 loads of laundry washed by my DH over the weekend. I really hate being sick, and I get very annoyed when I'm too ill to care for my family.
Today, the kids and I made a parkade out of lego. We are very proud of it.
