Last night, Miranda had a tough time getting to sleep. She's usually fast to fall asleep, but not last night. The only thing I can think of that could've caused this is that she had an empty tummy. She did not eat all of her dinner, and this is VERY unusual, especially on "Torta and Rice" night. She didn't even ask for rice. All she wanted to eat was ketchup and ice cream. And we didn't stop her.
(Now before you get all up in arms about my feeding her dessert when she clearly didn't eat her dinner, I suggest you read "How to Get Your Kid to Eat" by Ellyn Satter, which I credit for Luc's improved eating habits.)
Truth be told, we're not worried about Miranda's eating habits. She's a good eater on most days. She'll try any food, and she's growing well. She's lean too. Nice long torso like Daddy, not like Mommy who's shortwaisted.
Today, Luc and I made chocolate cupcakes. He was a very good helper. He mixed all of the ingredients together and prepared the cupcake tins by putting paper cups in the tins. He then licked the bowl while the cupcakes baked. He and Miranda are now sitting at the table eating the finished cakes. Luc is very proud of his accomplishment. Miranda's just happy she has "ah-cake".

Ah yes, ketchup, the universal kids food.
Darwin has actually eaten it like pudding.
When I was a kid, I remember liking it too, and eating ketchup sandwiches.
Interesting. My brother was more of a mustard sandwich kid...
