Playing Catchup - Part 3

The holiday season isn't officially over until the "Fashionably Late New Year's Eve" Bash. Our dear friends Don & Monique hold this event on the first Saturday after New Year's, and it's great because it allows people like us (who prefer to ring in the New Year at home in our pajamas) to get a second chance to celebrate NYE with friends.
We do the countdown, have champagne, and noise-makers. And they always have a theme. This year it was Pirates.

With the kids so young, and with us having no reliable over-night babysitting services available, hubby and I have to take turns going to the party every year. We go, have fun, ring in the new year, then return home quickly before we turn into pumpkins. This year, it was MY turn to go!

Anyway, as I said, the theme was Pirates, and I sadly did not dress according to theme. Or should I say according to the "Main Theme" of Pirates. Monique pointed out that there was a secondary theme of "People in Red", and I was wearing a red sweater.
I didn't have anything piratey to wear which is pretty pathetic. I'm hoping that their theme next year is "pajamas and slippers" because I would DEFINITELY have a costume for that.

Now, this event took place in the lull between illnesses. By Wednesday of the following week, Luc was feverish. I don't think I set foot out of the house for about 2 weeks after that until he was better.
